Historic Grant Station's Vintage Chic Inspirational Wedding Shoot- Winter 2016 Wedding Trends

Here's a little sneak peek of one of 2016's trending winter wedding themes!  This vintage chic inspirational wedding photography shoot is the first styled shoot at Historic Grant Station.  It's a brand spanking new wedding venue in Central Florida!  Brides to the first of your friends to tie the knot at this spectacular venue. The visionary behind this venue is Chris, the owner of Rib City at Grant Station.  He has so many plans in the future for this venue and every tidbit of his creativity has so much character and detail.  To welcome Grant Station into the wedding community, our talented wedding vendor team came together and worked hard to put this vintage chic collaboration together.  We were inspired by Historic Grant Station's 1800 Vintage theme and the 2016 trending winter garden bouquet by Petal's Florist with burgundy ranunculus , blush garden roses, white roses and eucalyptus.  The bouquet was so pretty!  As were the models!  Historic Grant Station has so many sweet perks too, which made for great photo opportunities!  There's a private island home for getting ready with a honeymoon suite for sleeping, romancing or relaxing, a private boat to get you to and from the island with it's own captain, lots of vintage rentals for ambiance and photos, a gorgeous barn reception area, dainty his and her bathrooms right next to the reception area and an air conditioned BAR for the groomsmen!  Thank you to all of the very talented wedding vendors and stunning models who worked so incredibly hard to bring this vision together.

Matthew + Annee Tie the Knot at Captain Hiram's in Sebastian Florida

Matthew and Annee decided the venture all the way from Wisconsin to tie the Knot on Florida's sunny beach but because their beach of choice was closed due to hurricane Matthew ...hmmm both hurricane and husband are named Matthew?  Matthew's Biblical meaning: "Gift of the Lord"!   They were forced to move their ceremony to a later time and different place.  I was a bit concerned but beautiful Annee had faith that God was in control and all would turn out GREAT.  Her faith was rewarded as Annee and Matthew tied the knot at Bimini Beach at Captain Hiram's around sunset and the weather was beautiful.  Annee and Matthew are faithful Christian's who believe strongly in the sanctity of marriage.   Annee, as a symbol of their marital covenant to God, had three rings (an engagement ring and two wedding bands) to symbolize the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and their Christian belief that God is the Head of their marriage and once husband and wife they will be yoked together to create the unity of three, with God as head of their marriage and life together.  Their ceremony was not in a church but God's presence was strong nonetheless!  They had friends sing Blessings,  and their voices sounded like angels from heaven.   I have photographed dozens of church weddings over the years but this was by far the most Christian ceremony I have had the honor of photographing.  Wish you many years of happiness under God's provision.  Annee and Matthew, you are a walking testimony to faith in God. Enjoy the photos and look at Angel's face as we go the wrong way down a one way street. Was her name really Angel?  WOW!  An Angel was driving you to your wedding <3  Love to both of you!

Jimmy and Hilary Tie The Knot at Rockledge County Club Jimmy was a single guy with 5 children who met Hilary and couldn’t stop thinking about her.  Jimmy is a Christian who was praying for the right person to come into his life and was waiting on God’s answer so as to not make a mistake.  One day he was walking on the beach with his children thinking of Hilary and he could not shake her from his mind.  He asked God to show him a sign to let him be assured that she was “the one”.  He prayed to God, "if this is meant to be, please let me find the perfect sea shell".  After walking for some time and only finding broken shellls, Jimmy heard a loud shout.  Someone yelled “stop”, only this voice was not from his children and there was no one else around.  He obeyed and stopped.  He looked down.  There lied the perfect sea shell.  When he handed it to Hilary later that evening, her words were, “It is perfect”.  Jimmy knew he would marry Hilary in that moment.

They tied The Knot at Rockledge Country Club with their 7 children present.  It was a day to remember!  So much love in this family of 9!  Congratulations Cotton family!

Simply White and Elegant Inspirational Wedding Shoot at Sterling Stables Simply White and Elegant Inspirational Wedding Photography Shoot at Sterling Stables

Sterling Stables is a quaint wedding and event venue located in Cocoa, Florida.  Amy, the wedding event specialist, asked if I could get a group of talented local wedding vendors together to showcase the more elegant side of this farm styled venue.  Our goal was to showcase how Sterling Stables, with its empty walls, is a bride to be and event designer's ideal blank canvas for inspiration. Although the slate is clean for inspirations, the venue does provide tables and chairs so you don't have to worry about furniture rentals. There's also a gorgeous chandelier and hanging lights right in the middle of the ballroom which is a perfect backdrop for creatives!

Susan of Coastal Blooms and Amy of Sterling Stables decided to go with a Simply White and Elegant theme to showcase what is trending this year with brides who are looking for a classy and simple yet sophisticated look but may also enjoy the outdoor feel of this quiet setback intimate venue. My favorite tidbit of this awesome venue was the perfect photo lighting in the getting ready room with its vintage styled bathroom and bathtub and cute vanity.  There are several retro cars on location for great portrait opportunities and you can take your pick as to whether you'd like to be married in the front of the venue or in the back of the venue. We focused our inspirational shoot on the front of the venue.  As the sun set into the horizon and the darkness of the night sky appeared, we could see the milky way galaxy and tons of fire flies (lighting bugs as we called them while growing up in the northeast) . I have NEVER seen fire flies in Florida... so this was such a treat!  Thank you again to all the talented vendors who participated.

Karlette's Dreamy Senior Session Karlette is a family friend so when her Mother asked me to photograph Karlette's Senior Portraits, it was an honor!  We met back in youth group about 5 years ago.  At that time she was just a tween and I was her volunteer youth counselor.  Since then Karlette and I have become friends.  Working with her is always a great time!  Lots of laughs. Karlette is up for anything artistic & creative when it comes to photography so it was quite natural to hear that she was really interested in a session that was not the run of the mill senior portrait session.   So we decided to venture to the Sebastian Inlet with my lighting assistant, Stephanie.  It was quite the adventure.   Besides working as my lighting assistant and second photographer, Stephanie is a avid wildlife and landscape photographer who is  ALWAYS UP FOR AN ADVENTURE! The 3 of us set out without any posing ideas with the mindset of just being creative with our surroundings.  Karelette wanted unique photographs that portrayed her interests, her heritage and her personality.  It was also important to catch those genuine candid smiles and moments to portray Karlette as I see her when she is just hanging out being sweet down to earth...Karlette
